You have claimed to support Win 7 on the P50, so actually do it, don't just let your marketing saps spruke about it, put some engineering behind it. Lenovo you need to get your slack act together and actually provide support.
#Install asmedia usb3.1 extensible host controller install
Bingo, my user admin account name has a space! It installed first go, no install complaints and my USB C external HDD dock sprung to life immediately. The extracted release notes mention it fixes a bug, among others, where previous versions would not install if the user name has a space character. What's to loose, so I downloaded it and extracted it to find it is Intel drivers in a DELL wrapper much like Intel drivers in a lenovo Wrapper. Google turned up DELL have Version 15.2.30.280 of Intel USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller and Hub Driver. Now it will not install under my user account that is an administartor account. It was originally installed during Win7 install using the built in Admin Account before the OOBE. The only Win 7 Lenovo USB 3.1 driver (Version 15.2.30.11) will not install on my system manually and fails using any of the Lenovo tools or utilities. I suspect item 1 was resolved by the most recent Lenovo graphics driver bundle. Reinstalled drivers individually checking system behaviour at each step. So I uninstalled all Intel drivers, Lenovo utilities and the Graphics drivers to get back to a base Win 7 install and confirmed Paint worked. The external drive dock came with a USB C to USB3.1 cable. I could not get a USB3.1 external drive dock to work on the USB C port. Mouse would go jittery for about 20-30 seconds.Ģ.
MS Paint, Lenovo Battery utility and the Lenovo Network utility would never display a window when opened, just an icon in the taskbar or a splash screen, then absolutely nothing. Solution provided by DELL to a problem I have been unable to resolve on my Lenovo P50 using Lenovo Tools and Drivers.īackground Info: I have Windows 7 Ult SP1 Retail on my P50, with two issues.ġ.
